In partnership with MDM Recordings, Brownlee breathes new life in to one of his most cherished songs, “Listen.”
Produced by acclaimed hitmaker Dan Swinimer, the reimagined ‘Confessional Mix’ peels back the polish to expose a more intimate, stripped-down take on the popular track. The passion that emanates from the lyric and the melody carries the angst of someone ready to lay it all on the table and be honest about the situation. A plea for unguarded confession to resurrect a crumbling relationship.
This release also marks the third in a series of alternate mixes reimagining some of Chad’s greatest hits.
“Listen” is one of those career defining songs for me. That’s why it was a clear choice to be among the list of remixed songs. It’s that vulnerable plea to a partner to reflect on what they could be throwing away. To consider everything before moving on. To Listen with not just their ears, but also with their eyes and heart.
This song has been a steady member of the live show set list and has become a fan favourite over the years. One of the most meaningful testimonies I received is of a couple sitting at the table, ready to sign their divorce papers, and “Listen” came on the radio. They paused, looked at each other, and asked “what are we doing?” And they never went on to sign those papers. Their relationship turned around in that moment and they were able to rekindle their love and future together. Sometimes all we really need to do, is stop and listen. Oh the power of music! “ - Chad
ABOUT CHAD
Hailing from British Columbia, critically acclaimed and multiple award-winning Canadian country artist Chad Brownlee has been forging a new path as an independent artist since 2023. He launched this next chapter of his career with “The Country Kind” and followed it up with the emotionally charged duet “They Don’t Know About Us” alongside Annika, before releasing his pulsating, anthemic song “Reason To Love.”
Now, he’s just released a brand-new alternate mix of one of his most beloved songs, “Listen.”

Beyond his success as a musician, Brownlee is a multi-faceted artist with a diverse background. A former Vancouver Canucks draft pick, he transitioned from professional hockey to country music, proving his ability to excel in multiple fields. He’s also a dedicated philanthropist, using his platform to give back to various causes.
